From our sister project DignityFIRM, three peer-researchers talk about their work and experience with participatory action research for the project. Watch the below video to hear their voices:
Participatory action research (PAR) is a collaborative research approach where those most affected by an issue actively participate in the research process, from design to action, to address the issue and create positive change. In research project DignityFIRM, three local NGOs in Poland, The Netherlands and Spain trained former undocumented workers in food sectors as peer-researchers, and they coordinated focus groups and implemented actions for their case studies. For PICUM, the network of 155 NGOs coordinating the PAR on DignityFIRM, approaches like PAR can be a transformative political tool to make an impact not only on migration policies, but also on migration studies.
