We rarely—if ever—reach out to colleagues with urgent pleas for money, for generosity, for charity. And yet, here I am doing just that. I would love for you to take a moment to learn about the initiative I am supporting on behalf of the Radboud Refugee Working Group: raising funds to purchase books for refugees.
In these challenging times, you can truly make a difference—simply by opening your wallet. How easy is that?
Help refugees learn Dutch by ensuring they have access to books and workbooks! These materials are quite expensive, often costing more than €80 each, which poses a serious problem for someone eager to learn Dutch but without official status. The teachers—retired professors from our university—volunteer their time and are highly dedicated. The students, too, are deeply motivated—many of them hope to become students at our university one day (though, of course, that’s only possible if they receive official status and find housing nearby).
