Given the increased digitalization of society, this project explores the consequences of lacking or low-level digital skills for female refugees accessing the labor market. Female refugees in the Netherlands have lower employment rates compared to male refugees, other female migrants, and natives. They also tend to have lower digital skills, which may hinder their job opportunities.
The DigiSkills2Work project investigates the connection between digital skills and labor market integration for female refugees. Using an innovative methodology, it combines policy analysis, interviews, focus groups, and participatory activities with female refugees, as well as co-creation activities to foster collaboration between key stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to develop practical solutions and policy recommendations.
The project is led by dr. Giacomo Solano and funded by NWO.
