Join us at Lux Nijmegen for the screening of the film ‘The True Mirror: Melisa’, the artistic envisioning of the PhD Research of our RUNOMI colleague dr. S. Ozasir Kacar. ‘The True Mirror: Melisa’ is a short film directed by Tugba Ozasir (also the main role) and Atahan Çakir. Tugba Ozasir will also attend the event at Lux. The film explores how structural forces around us shape who we ourselves become.
The event is a short film screening with an introductory program and discussion on how multiple identities, power dynamics, and structural environments shape our daily experiences and who we become. Finally, this will be followed by a short interactive activity, in which participants are invited to reflect on their own perspectives and view identities from different angles. The session will conclude with a broader conversation about filmmaking as a medium for research and societal impact.
